Hello there and...Happy New Year!!! :)
Eventually I managed to cut out a little bit of time to enjoy a cup of tea and update the blog! :)
These past two weeks have been very exciting: I went back to Sardinia to celebrate the New Year, I attended a lovely Study Day at Great Dixter as part of my KLC Great Dixter Award for Horticulture prize, and I worked on a very special (ad temporary secret!) design... Hopefully will be able to reveal everything in the next two weeks! :)
And it is now a pleasure to have the time to sit down for a moment and, Seed Box beside, selecting my entries for SEEDS OF LOVE 2014.
If you don't know it yet, Seeds of Love is a fantastic seed-swapping initiative launched by Isabelle on her blog A Little Bit Of Paradise, and at its third year it now counts more then 120 partecipants from all over the world (I am sure you will recognise some of these names!!!)
Each partecipant can offer and can win seeds to enrich his/her collection and most of all get the chance to be in touch with a buzzing Gardening Community spread all over the globe! For full regulation, please have a look here (There is still time to join up to the 22nd of January!)
But lets come back to my seed lists! Due to my work I am lucky enough to collect seeds and seeds packets from a lot of suppliers and from all over England. Unfortunatelly most of these are not enought to be shared among three luckly people (the minimum requested by the S.O.L. rules!)...so I have to restrain myself!
I hope you will like my selection! :)
Moluccella laevis,
a lovely, scented lime-green annual which I find superb in flower arrangments as well as in the mixed border.
I love to blend it with purple or with burgundy flowers!
Lathyrus odoratus 'Singing in the blue'
My favourite Sweet Peas blend! A lovely, scented combination of almost-blue purples and sweet lilacs, I simple love it!!! You can see it in my kitchen with Cosmos 'Purity', Allium schoenoprasum (Chives) and Tulbaghia Violacea
Borago officinalis f.alba
Thank you for popping by and to those who will take part!
New to this blog? Please feel free to follow me on Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest! You can also subscribe to the blog through the button on your right!
Next planned posts for the new year? My latest visit to Great Dixter, The trip to Hummelo (Piet Oudolf's private garden), Tom Stuart Smith's Garden & the Licterature festival, I Maestri del Paesaggio in Bergamo... Plenty of Gardens and Pictures to love in the next few weeks! And the Wordless Wednesdays will be back soon!
Back to work now...a lovely famly town garden waits to be completed! ;)

Another of my big favourites! Italians stuff Ravioli and make frittata with its leaves, while English use flowers in salads and cocktals. Wild in Sardinia (where I come from), I love it in the garden! :)

Allium tuberosum
Another edible beauty perfect for the potager, the vegetable garden or the mixed border as well for a windowsill pot! If you have never tasted it fresh...you are missing a lot! Bees love it and it looks so lovely!
