Mysteries revealed!

Hello there,
I cannot believe that has been 5 months since the last time I wrote on this beloved blog and I am very excited to be back!
But what has led me from writing weekly posts to make a appearance every now and then, mostly on bi-monthy basis?
Well...the secrets are now out... so grab a cup tea and a slice of your favourite cake...and enjoy the reading!

1) BESTIQUE'S BIG DREAM
{Hornbeam wath in the Flower Garden, leading to a Bespoke Glasshouse}
If, when I was a design student, they would have told me that within two years I would have worked with Anoushka Feiler, one of my favourite British designers, I would have laughed hard...
...but here we are!
As anticipated in one of the previous posts, immediately after the GROW London experience I had the pleasure to start working at Bestique... and in the last months the entire studio has been involved in the planting and logistic of 'The Big Dream', an amazing 3 acres private garden designed by Anoushka and due to completion this Summer. I lost count of the perennials already planted since March.... but we must be now in the reason of 30.000+ without counting shrubs and trees! You can see some of my favourite shoots below and read more about the garden here and here, on Bestique Blog.

2) AND YES.....I GOT MARRIED!!!
As you might have spotted on Twitter, I got married in Sardinia, where I come from,
in a sunny and glorious day of April...
...and despite all my best intentions there has been no way to conciliate the previous point and the planning of our Italian wedding (in just 9 months and 1000+ miles away) with blog writing :)
More photos and details on that amazing days will be shared soon!

3) THIRD MYSTERY...NOT YET!
{Photo Credit:technobuffalo}
And the 3rd and last mystery....I am sorry...but it will remain a mystery at least until the end of the year...but I promise it will definitively be revealed within January 2016.
The only thing I can say for now is that involve a collaboration with the wonderful Carolyn of Simply Roses and that we hope that everyone will be able to enjoy and visit this 'Mystery' in Spring 2016.

That's all for the moment! I leave you to one of the most exciting time of the gardening year, with the Chelsea Fringe (officially started yesterday!) and the opening of the RHS Chelsea Flower Show in just 2 days time!
Cheerio!

A creative family...

Welcome back!

{Foto: Federico Gaudino}

I am so excited to write here, after over two months (how did it happen?!?) of silence... and this time, for once, I am not going to talk about my garden adventures, nor about my latest visit to David Austen Roses, the German sourcing trip for Bestique Design or the lovely project in central London that will be completed in April... Nor the Chelsea Fringe Festival...

{foto: Federico Gaudino}

This time I am going to introduce you to a young (...well...grizzled...;P) talent, a man who left his home, friend and beautiful island to follow his design dreams (this sound familiar!!) and which creativeness cannot be constrained within one single discipline...  It is with great pleasure that I am introducing Federico Gaudino, multidisciplinary designer, winner of  several design contests and considered one of the most talentful emerging Italian creative mind. We will be soon hear more about him...in the meantime, please have a look at his new website and to some of his most popular creations (you might well have one of them at home!) and come to meet him in person at the next Milano Design Week!

{foto: Federico Gaudino}
In the meantime, I may well order a OohIssa bookend or a Magazine 3... my new office need them soo much!!!

A presto!!!

Garden Design & Summer adventures

Hello there,

thank you for stopping-by and for your lovely tweets and messages despite the blog silence!

Between new projects, pop-up gardens and other garden-adventures days have run so quickly this Summer! I now have bookings up to Spring 2016 and I am tremendously happy to share that since July I joined Anoushka Feiler's Bestique Garden and Landscape Design team (another garden design wish came true!)

In all of this, I still have not had the chance to share anything about the Pop-up Gardens I designed and realised for GROW London. When time allows there will be a post about it (was such a great fun!), but in the meantime here a little peek:

And as said, this is just part of this great Summer just passed. Hopefully I will be able to share more in the next few weeks.

Among the other adventures I also went to the inauguration of the Piet Oudolf's field at Hauser & Wirth Somerset  and tomorrow I can be find in conversation with Matthew Childs in Bergamo (thanks to Valfredda nursery and to Garden Illustrated - more info here and here). If you are in town for I Maestri del Paesaggio/The Masters of the Landscape, please come to say hello!

Once again thank you again for stopping by and sharing this wonderful jorney with me! Will try to share more when time allows. In the meantime please feel free to join me on Twitter and Facebook.

Bisous

Please note that this photos have been taken on the latest day of build and before press day.
Mine was a very quick visit, but I think to have already spotted 3 recurring trends in this year gardens:

1) Mediterranean Feeling
2) Upcycled
3) Enviromentally-Friendly

Do you agree with me? Which one is your favourite?
