Wordless Friday: Sardinian colours, textures and inspirations!

I hope you will forgive me if, for once, I move the Wordless day post to Friday... 

Since the last post my 'Designer-life' has been a succession of drawings, visits, meetings, talks... 

So much work folks, but soo rewarding!

In all of this, I somehow managed to spend few days in Sardinia, from where my inspiration often come from. These time I did not observe costal landscapes and turquoise waters, but the suburb wildnerness that frame Cagliari, the chief town. I hope you will enjoy its colours and textures as much as I did!

Wordless Wednesdays: Favourite plants for a Dry & Shady Corner!

Hurray! It is official:  it is Springtime!!! 

Birds are singing, flowers are blooming, drawings and masterplans are piling up on my desk...(!!!) and days are getting longer!

Projects are getting more and more exciting and while I was completing the final planting plan for one of my latest design in London, I tought you might love to have an early peak at some of the perennials selected for few shady, dry spots (a quite common condition in London town gardens). Here they are:

Vinca minor: a sweet, reliable, free-flowering perennial

which will be happy in a sunny spot as much as in a dry shade corner. Image source: Crocus

3 dark favourites: Helleborus x hybridus 'Harvington Shades Of The Night',

With the imminent arrival of spring, can you feel as well an increased desire to eat fresh and healthy,

possibly with ingredients coming straight from our gardens?

I can't believe that is March already, where February is gone? As spring approaches, the number of meetings, drawings and garden-related events are increasing esponentially, but I do my best to keep posting! :) 

Coming to our wordless day inspiration, it is no secret that I LOVE to incorporate curves and organic shapes in my designs. They can alter completely the feel of the space and can turn a classic rectangular-box garden into a FANTASTIC sensory journey.

Can you smell it? No, probably not yet...but SPRING IS COMING!!!!

Seeking inspiration for a special (and temporarily secret!) project, on Tuesday you could have easily found me walking around Southbank. Mediterranean look, sketchbook on hand, nose pointing the sky in search of the perfect idea, I would have been very easy to identify!

Wordless Wednesdays: 5 Favourite Plants which will Flower on time for Christmas!

At the moment of writing this week post, I am still very excited by the GMG Award lunch.

A very overwhelming event which took place at the Intercontinental London Park Lane last Wednesday. It was great to meet Friends, Collegues and Garden Heroes!

Among the awarded, Crocus (one of my favourite nursery) won the 'Best Website of the Year'!

A really deverved award for a very informative and elegant website, full of precious informations but also of great photos! This week I am therefore going to pick 5 White Flowered Plants from their stunning selection, which will be in flower by Christmas!!!

Wordless Wednesdays: Autumn at Hampton Court!

I am soo lucky to live in the middle point between RHS Wisley Garden and Kew Gardens, two of the most inspiring Gardens of England. And just 10 mins from Hampton Court, the fabulous royal residence on the Thames where Capability Brown lived and worked for nearly 20 years.

I love walking through the 'Wilderness' up to his former house, imaging how was the garden at his times and admiring the suave change of the seasons and of colours...
